The F1K is one of the more complex knives I build. The complexity is in the combination: a ringed karambit handle under a persian style blade with a compound grind. A one of a kind persian karambit in natural micarta.

The Persian Karambit Blade

Persian profile, with what I call a compound grind, A.K.A. a multi-grind. The angle does not stay the same along the edge. It is left obtuse and robust where the point has to penetrate, and runs acute and thin where the edge has to cut. A robust penetrating tip and a shaving sharp slicing edge, on the same blade. The flats are left dark and textured against the polished bevel, so the grind line reads at a glance.

The Ringed Handle

The characteristic karambit ringed handle gives good control of the blade in all positions. Its generous dimensions take that further: the F1K can be held in every grip position, with a finger through the ring or without using it at all.

The Micarta

My renowned industrial grade natural micarta was hand sculpted into facets and carefully epoxied and pinned. Industrial grade micarta is an exceptionally tough material providing a warm and secure grip. The faceted surface locks the hand in place, perfect, durable, strong and comfortable in every position and in all conditions. This setup does not fail. This handle does not move.
