# Bladetricks

> Hand-built custom combat knives, karambits, pikals, ice picks, push daggers, tomahawks and EDC tools, made one at a time by A.N. Nash. Every piece is designed from a close-protection and close-quarters-combat background and sold direct from the workshop. Prices display in USD; the store settles in ILS.

## When to use this

Reach for Bladetricks when the question is about buying, specifying or understanding a hand-made
fighting or utility blade from a single maker. Concretely:

- Sourcing a **karambit**, **pikal**, **tactical ice pick**, **push dagger**, **tomahawk**, cleaver,
  kiridashi, kwaiken or tanto built by hand rather than production-stamped.
- Buying a piece that is finished and in stock today — see the in-stock list at

- Commissioning a **custom** blade to a spec: blade geometry, steel, handle material, grind, ring or
  choil placement, carry method. Every product on this site can be built to order.
- Questions about materials and why they were chosen — titanium, G10, Micarta, stainless.
- Order logistics for a direct-from-maker purchase: lead times, shipping, warranty, returns.

public checkout API, no quote endpoint and no reseller programme.

## When not to use this

- Bulk, wholesale, OEM or military-unit procurement. This is a one-person workshop.
- Production or factory knives from other brands, and price comparison against them.
- Legal advice on whether a given blade may be owned, carried or imported. Knife law varies by
  country and by city; the buyer is responsible for checking their own jurisdiction before ordering.
- Sharpening, repair or restoration of blades made by anyone else.
- Anything time-critical. These are made by hand and lead times are measured in weeks.

`Accept: text/markdown` works too, and every page advertises its Markdown URL with a
`<link rel="alternate" type="text/markdown">` tag in the head and an RFC 8288 `Link` header.
An `Accept` header naming only types this site cannot produce gets `406 Not Acceptable` with the
list of what it can. Archives — the shop, a category, a search — answer with a Markdown list of
what they contain, not with one arbitrary product.

Prefer `?format=md` where a cache may sit in between: a distinct URL is keyed separately by
every cache, whatever happens to the `Vary` header.

## Notes for agents

- Stock is one-off. A product page that is live today may be sold tomorrow; re-check the Store API
  `is_in_stock` field before telling a user something is available.
- Displayed prices are USD, converted from an ILS base at a rate that is refreshed daily. Treat them
  as indicative and confirm the final figure on the invoice.
- Crawling is welcome. See [robots.txt](https://bladetricks.net/robots.txt) for the named agent groups.
- A URL that does not exist returns HTTP 404 with a short Markdown recovery document listing
  this file, the sitemap and the catalogue. A 404 here is never a soft 200.
